Are you confident about your golf swing postures? If not, then you must be having trouble in achieving the perfect golf swing. Many golfers face problems in adjusting their postures, but care little about it. Instead they are more conscious about their forward tilt, weight distribution and other such factors.

However, this is not the right way for achieving a perfect golf swing. You should be extremely careful about your posture. Keeping the club in its exact swing path is impossible without a perfect posture. It can be also said that if you are the best in your posture, then developing club head power and speed is easier. Let’s discuss some tips for attaining perfection in your golf swing posture.

Importance of maintaining a perfect balance
The foremost feature of an ideal posture is allowing a balanced motion in all directions, for which you should have to be dynamic and athletic in your approach. Center your entire weight on to your feet and flex up your knees to allow an ease to the movement. Keep the upper body lean a bit from your waist forming an axis. This axis will facilitate your shoulder twists. Now, keep your hands relaxed, and let them hang naturally from the shoulder sockets. Now you have the perfect posture. Continue practicing in this form, you will definitely achieve your goals.

Here are two more very simple tips that can help you improve your golf swing. As the fall approaches, little drills and tips like these are things you can do at the driving range or in your backyard when your local course is in no condition for a round of golf.

Pausing at the top
A common mistake made by most of the golfers is increasing their pace at the time of swing. You must always remember that it is good to swing with acceleration and power but at the same time you must also focus on the rhythm. If you wish to accomplish this in a successful manner then always pause slightly at the top of your backswing before you change the direction and go ahead with the downswing.

Hitting at a low pace into the wind
There are many golfers who think that hitting hard into the wind is perfect, but that only leads to more spin to the ball and subsequently it goes out of control. Always keep in mind; your swing remains perfect when you hit the ball with ease into the wind.

If you want to become a better golfer then you must also make sure that you are aware of the basics of the golf swing. Mastering a golf swing is all about bringing perfection in your swing posture, positioning and aim. Here are a few simple tips to help you improve your swing:

Rotating of hands through the ball
Did you ever think of the significance of your hands and forearms at the time of impact? If not, then it is high time to concentrate on the role of your arms as well as forearms to get that perfect swing. It is always considered better to make an effort to get solid contact with the ball. The impact position will always help you to understand the appropriate way to flip your hands through the ball.

Focusing on the left knee
During the backswing, the majority of golfers let their left knee break into a collapse position towards the right. To fix this problem and bring stability in both your knees, you can very well imagine that your left knee would go out in the direction of the target on the backswing.

I’ll post two more tips later this week for you to improve your golf swing. Check back in a couple of days.

As promised last Friday, here are some specific examples of swing drills you can try to help improve your golf swing. There are plenty of other types of drills, other than the ones listed below, that you can try as well so keep looking for more examples.

The Easy Drill: This drill is a classic form of golf drill used for improving the swing. Here you will have to go towards your driving range concentrating only on a single goal, i.e. striking the 150-flag. If you want to get better within a short span, then this drill is surely the best option for you.

The Hip-Turn Drill: This can be defined as a complete oddball. The hip-turn drill works specifically on improving the alignment of the hip. There are also cases where it is used for creating golf-shot tricks. This drill will need you to stand with your body square, swinging your driver with one arm. You may feel a bit odd, but it works wonders in developing the hip rotation.

Give-No-Quarter Drill: This drill can also be described as an oddball. It is used for developing all kinds of swings, including the driver swing. The fundamental theme of this drill is developing a perfect balance in your golf swings. A quarter is placed in the golf shoes while swinging. Does it appear peculiar to you? It may sound odd, but the results are truly awesome. This is an ideal drill for the golfers with poor balance.

You will have to place the quarter on your toe and prevent it from dropping while practicing a swing. Are you finding it hard? It is the easiest job on earth if you have the right balance. Regular sliding off proves definite faults in your balance.

Continue to practice these drills and reach the highest level of perfection in your swings. However, remember that these are only drills and you will also have to be good on the actual game for achieving the heights. It can be said a nice blend of game skills and golf swing drills will help you meet all your desired goals.

Golfers are always inclined towards improving their golf swings. This is a common fact for all; be it the professional golfers or amateurs. However, the best way of achieving the desired result is not known to most of them. Are you one among them? All you need to do is practice a set of simple drills. These drills will enhance your golf skills and help you to improve the swings. If you are eying for a perfect golf swing, then no other way can be as good as these practice drills.

Why You Should Use Golf Swing Drills
The set of golf drills is comprised of a number of isolated and simple exercises, which are specially designed for adding up particular attributes or expertise in your game. If you are a novice in this field, these drills may appear a bit weird to you, as they are quite different when compared to the original style of golf. Don’t go by the look; remember that these drills are extremely effective and sometimes as important as the actual practice.

Check back later next week when I’ll post some specific golf swing drills for you to try out.

The first tee can be nervous for anyone, especially if you’re playing in a competition! It’s the start of your round and can determine your momentum for the rest of the round. Making sure you get away comfortably and down the middle sets you up and gets your nerves settled for the rest of the hole and inevitably and hopefully a great round.

Take it step by step:

Take deep breaths and control your breathing so you don’t allow the nerves to take over, they lead to a bad shot!

Focus on your target and visualise your shot.

Don’t allow anyone else to distract you from your pre-shot routine.

Act relaxed and casual around everyone else so that the atmosphere does not build up.

Don’t procrastinate about the rest of the round, you haven’t tee’d off yet.

Remember what you’ve learnt, practiced and go for it!

Do these steps every single time and I can guarantee your first tee nerves will be much smaller than what they currently are. I was once an extremely nervous person but over the years have concentrated on practicing with distractions and managing my nerves to keep the same swing over and over.

A lot of new golfers forget one of the basic principles of golf: you have to swing down in order to make the ball go up. This applies to every golf club you have in your golf bag except for the putter and your driver.

Beginners sometimes think they have to lift up during their swing to get lift on the ball and that’s just not true. When you hit the golf ball on a downward swing the ball gets lift based on the clubhead alone.

You don’t need to “lift” up to get the ball in the air during your swing. When you do try and force that lift you end up missing the ball completely or hitting an awfully weak shot.

As always, if you’re unsure turn on the television and watch the professionals swing to get a better idea of what you should and shouldn’t be doing.

An old school golfer, who wants to rant and rave about hitting irons, will tell you that as the loft of the club increases you should have a different stance. So, in other words, as the position of the ball shifted to the right as the loft changed you would take a more open stance.

Today’s golfers, especially the professionals, use a much simpler system. In this simplified approached, the right foot moves closer to the left as the loft increases and the golf ball is positioned closer to the golfer (because the shaft on the club is going to be shorter).

So the moral here is that regardless of what club you’re playing make sure your stance is square to the line and your golf ball is always played off the heel.
